At Ashton ITC we use Adobe Photoshop for our image editing. This program is the acknowledged leader on both the PC and Mac formats for photo manipulation and enhancement. It is ideal for touching up scanned or captured images, cropping, resizing and converting to "Web friendly" pictures.
Many of our clients have downloaded a shareware program for Windows-95 called Paint Shop Pro developed by JASC Software. This very inexpensive program is reported to have much of the functionality and capability of Photoshop. You can download it from the JASC home page.
Much of the software available for download on the Internet has been compressed using a ZIP utility. In order to use the software you will need to de-compress these files. A good program for this is available from WinZip. You can download an evaluation copy directly from the WinZip home page.
